錢米供僧 The merit of making offerings

vbs629 武帝又問。人用錢米。供佛齋僧。功德如何。 誌公答曰。其福甚大不可量。若人有此信向。自有無量功德。經云。供佛又禮拜。福等虛空無比賽。齋僧復施襯。如同行路著腳跟。譬如耕種田園一般。春種一粒粟。秋收萬顆子。然雖如是。全要後代修行人。脫俗離塵。守戒清淨。剃除鬚髮。不離道場。參求明師。訪問口訣。明心見性。弘法度人。接引後來。報佛恩德。若有如是僧道。應受人間供養。所以捨財施主要信心不退。亦莫生疑。異日有因緣。亦同得此道也。 【白話】梁武帝繼續請教:”如果用錢財米糧來供養佛陀、布施僧眾,能獲得怎樣的功德呢?” 志公和尚鄭重回答:”這樣的福德廣大無邊,難以估量!只要懷着虔誠之心行此善舉,自然能獲得無量功德。佛經上說:’虔誠供佛又禮拜,福德如虛空般無邊無際;齋僧布施衣物,就如同行路有了穩固根基。’” Emperor Wu asked again, “What is the merit of making offerings to the Buddha and the Sangha?” Master Zhi Gong replied, “The blessings they derive are limitless. 真心學佛 Proper mindset for studying Buddhadharma

vbs628 又有一等俗漢。裝箇善人樣子。冒將某處。一件善事為題。各方抄化。詐人錢米。肥家運己。養子供妻。這等呆人。可悲可痛。一朝罪報。神鬼不容。已上冒端抄化者。莫言有福。帶累父母。六親眷屬。同入地獄。受苦無盡。自己一日命終。猶如落湯螃蟹。怎求解脫也。所以好心為善事化緣者。自然有其下落。化有錢米。自無私曲。公平正直。知因識果。成就好事。莫說招提公物。就是人分一個果子。亦不可私昧。要將供眾結緣。以此公心。可學佛心也。 【白話】誌公和尚繼續開示:”還有一類市井之徒,裝成善人的模樣,假借某處修橋補路、建寺塑佛等善事為名,四處募捐,實則詐取錢財,養家肥己。這等愚人,實在可悲可嘆!待罪業現前,鬼神難容——莫說自身福報,連父母六親都要受牽連,一同墮入地獄,永世受苦。待其命終之時,就像滾水裡的螃蟹,掙扎無門,哪還有解脫之機?” 反觀真心行善的化緣者:所募錢糧,絕無貪占;賬目公開,公平正直;深明因果,成就功德。就連別人布施的一個果子,也要供眾結緣,不敢私藏。懷此公心,方是學佛初心! 化緣的真正功德 Merit and virtue of raising funds

vbs 627 若是好僧道人。早晚之中。務要勤參三寶。苦下慇懃之心。勿起懈怠之意。看見常住淡泊。或是庵堂佛像朽壞。應當發起勇猛精進之心。募緣修整。施主錢米不可私自受用。務要公平正直。交入常住。公使公用。乃是化緣者之功德也。古人云。難行能行。難做能做。方是出家之佛子。學道之好人。是以天寬地闊。男女善心者多。若不去化他。縱有錢米。無處下手作福田也。乃是僧道有過。枉在空門。為人無慈悲心。不肯引他出苦。僧道善人。化到你家。汝若慳吝不捨。是自己當面錯過了也。 【白話】志公和尚繼續開示:「若是真心修行的出家人,每日早晚都應精勤禮敬佛、法、僧三寶,心懷至誠,不可懈怠。若見寺院清貧、佛像破舊,更應發勇猛心,廣結善緣,募集資金修繕。但切記,信眾布施的錢糧,不可私自挪用,務必公開公正,全數用於寺院建設、弘法利生。這才是化緣的真正功德! 僧道修行 Monastics cultivate the Way

vbs 627 帝又問曰。僧道修行。信是好事。如何又要去化緣。 誌公答曰。我佛釋迦如來。有大慈大悲。愍念眾生。猶如赤子。平等救度。佛在兜率天上。觀見一切眾生。雖得人身在世。只知恩愛貪戀。但知受福。不肯作福。只知造業。不知懺悔。受盡陽命。死入幽冥。受大苦惱。無有出期。故從兜率。下降人間。托生梵王宮中。為悉達太子。棄捨皇宮。雪山修道。成等正覺。普度眾生。法說四十九年。教啟三百餘會。教化佛門弟子。住在一方一所。且要教化一方人慈。回心向善。修辦前程。正是與佛掌教。所以此佛歡喜。龍天擁護。若為出家者。遊手好閑。不務究理。不肯看經念佛。不去搬柴運水。不顧常住。空消信施。辜負四恩。如此之人。罪業不輕也。 【白話】梁武帝接着問道:”僧侶道士修行本是好事,可為何還要四處化緣呢?” The Emperor asked, “We all believe it is good that monastics cultivate  the Way; but why do they go on the alms-rounds?” 志公和尚鄭重回答道:”我佛釋迦如來懷大慈大悲之心,憐憫眾生如同疼愛嬰兒,平等普度一切生靈。當年佛祖在兜率天宮,觀察到世間眾生雖得人身,卻只知沉溺情愛貪慾,一味享福而不肯積福,肆意造業卻不懂懺悔。待陽壽耗盡墮入幽冥,便要受盡苦難永無解脫之日。” “因此佛祖從兜率天降臨人間,投生為淨飯王宮的悉達多太子。他捨棄王位富貴,在雪山苦修成道,終證菩提正果。此後四十九年間,佛祖開講三百餘場法會,廣度眾生。他教導佛門弟子要駐守一方,教化當地百姓回心向善,修積功德。這正是秉承佛祖教誨,所以能令諸佛歡喜,龍天護佑。” Master Zhi Gong replied, “Our Buddha Shakyamuni has great kindness and … Continue reading

祖先香火神 Ancestral and incense spirits
